Several months back I posted this collage showing a sample of photos from weeks 1 through 15.
Here's an updated photo showing a sample of weeks 20 - 38.
Its hard to tell in your new pictures if your hair has improved because you cant really see the front part of your head, but from the top and back area it seems like its getting better or at least not getting any worse.
This is always the issue with photos. It is very hard to recreate the exact same lighting, angle, hair style, etc. And so there is always a lot of subjective interpretation that goes into evaluation.
Barring a significant amount of regrowth or pictures taken with your head shaved in the exact same conditions, showing results is never going to be cut and dry. Even if everyone believes they should be.
Which is why I think DomeReviewer's input will be required at some point. I know he wants the pictures to speak for themselves, but they most likely won't. From the feedback he has provided, I feel like he sees no improvement. So I personally would trust that over our interpretation of some of these pictures. I can also make a case for improvement over some of the earlier photos, but that clearly isn't correlating with the feedback provided (and the reality is I'm invested in this product working so I'm taking a glass half full point of view).
You are correct. It is difficult to get the same lighting, positioning of hair / head and camera exposure. I rely on these photos to know what is happening on top of my head (since I can't really see that area). Some seem to show slight improvement while others look about the same as before starting LLLT.
Of course I often see the hair in the front and can say there's been no new growth or thickening of those hairs. That was the area I had really hoped would improve when I purchased the Theradome.
I agree it is hard to tell. When zooming in on photos I've never noticed any signs of new hairs growing amongst the existing hair. Doesn't mean it's not possible, but I don't have anything to show that it has happened. I'll try to put one of these together that focuses more on the front region. My guess is that the front has thinned a bit since starting this blog.
I appreciate all the effort you are putting into this. It's exceedingly difficult to take really good pictures. It sounds simple, but it isn't.
Even with my head shaved to a number 2, using the same camera and taking the pictures outside at the same time of day. I still can't recreate the exact same lighting and I can take 6 pictures and have them all look different enough to where I can't be sure exactly what I'm seeing (positive or negative changes).
So I feel for you Dome, I do.
