I have completed 56 Theradome treatments. After experiencing some shedding / hair loss...whatever you'd like to call it, I opted to decrease my Theradome usage to 4 times each week (down from 5).

This morning I noticed that Theradome had updated their website. Those of you expecting results after 18 treatments will now need to wait a minimum of 18 weeks. Quite a change...Yet somehow the 120 day return policy remains the same. A participant on the hair loss forum Hair Loss Help brought it to my attention that Theradome has made a change in the return policy that prevents customers outside of the United States from being able to utilize the 120 day return policy. The change appears to have been made in March of this year. We are unsure if international users who purchased prior to the change will be allowed to return their Theradome devices.
A few weeks ago I requested that Theradome update their return policy to accommodate for the amount of time they say it should take to see substantial results. In this case a trial period of 6 months would be fair.
The CEO of Theradome has declined to change the policy. So here we sit counting down the days. I am somewhere near day 105 of Theradome usage. If I had to make a judgement right now I would say the Theradome treatments didn't result in any notable improvement to my hair. I have no desire to return the product (mostly because I have committed to doing this review for one year), but many of you have voiced a need to get a refund if the Theradome doesn't show results. Based on my experience you have one of two options: 1. Prepare to return the Theradome prior to day 120 and hope for a refund of your purchase price. 2. Forgo the option of returning the Theradome and commit to using the device for the 6 to 9 months it often requires to see results. Fifteen weeks and 52 treatments into this Theradome experiment and still not much to report. I don't see any signs of new hair growth, nor do I see any noticeable increase in the thickness (diameter) of existing hairs.
The videos in this comparison aren't perfectly aligned, but still do a decent job of allowing you to see the hair in week 7 (left) as compared to week 12 (right). I think its fair to say the hair hasn't thickened or made any other notable improvements . If anything it has thinned out a bit since starting the Theradome treatments. Today marks about 3 calendar months of Theradome usage (started on 12/24/13).
At this point I don't see much difference in my hair. Small differences may exist, but nothing that would be noticed by those not analyzing the hair. A person following the FDA recommended twice weekly usage would just now be to 26 treatments. Per the Theradome website: After 26 treatments (twenty minutes per treatment) Thicker and longer hair. Healthier scalp. Reduced scalp itching and inflammation. Enhanced curl retention for curly hair. ...none of those items would be easy to demonstrate in a photo. My guess is these next 3 months will be the most telling as to whether or not the Theradome works as advertised. This photo isn't meant to show progress as much as to show something different than usual. The lights of the bathroom make my hair look much worse than in the sun (which I why I opted to use those for the standard progress photos). Also had a bit of gel in the front when this picture was taken. We are nearing the time where those of you who are not satisfied with the Theradome experience are likely to attempt to return the device for a refund. The wording on the Theradome website makes it appear to be a simple return process. However, as several people have already experienced, there is more to this policy. Somewhere in your Theradome box is a piece of paper stating that you must register your device on the day it was received to be eligible for the 120 day return policy. I know I didn't take the time to search the box for documentation, and I doubt most of you did either. One of our readers was initially denied the ability to return, but after some complaints the Theradome representative said they would resolve the situation to the customers satisfaction. I have emailed Theradome on a couple of occasions requesting the return policy be changed to reflect the amount of time necessary for the average user to see results. From what I've been told that would be approximately 6 months. I have not received a response to that request. We would like to hear from those who attempted to return the device. Let us know about the experience and if you received a full or partial refund.
